THE JORDAN RENOVATION UPDATE: Owner Feedback Requested

“Going to the mountains is going home.” JOHN MUIR

The Jordan, tucked in the woods of nature’s cathedral, is set in one of the most picturesque locations in the heart of Maine’s Mahoosuc mountains. It is the gem of Sunday River’s Western Reserve. The Jordan is your true escape to a simpler way of life; a place to let the day’s adventures fall off your shoulders while you relax, recuperate, unwind and share stories with your friends and families by the woodburning fireplace.

Owners and guests are drawn to the Jordan for its slower pace with spectacular views and fresh air. The experience owners and guests long for at the Jordan can only be achieved by meeting and exceeding expectations for arrival impression, comfort, design, amenities, guestroom décor, dining, and service.  Over the past two years, your HOA Executive Board and Sunday River have worked together to lay the foundation of a renovation project that will elevate the interior of the Jordan to match its breathtaking location from the minute our owners and guests walk through the door.

To start the renovation process, Sunday River lead and funded a re-brand of the Jordan hiring Puelle Design and David Puelle. Puelle and his team interviewed longtime owners and our most loyal guests to find out why they visit the Jordan year after year.  The branding work focused on how the Jordan Hotel fits into the Sunday River brand while creating a hotel brand with a stature of its own and included every aspect of the hotel brand including signage, uniforms, arrival experience and other hotel details.

After the branding work was completed, the Jordan HOA Executive Board began researching, interviewing and working to put together a renovation project team with the experience to successfully complete this monumental project.  Attached is an overview of Puelle’s branding work, the entire, detailed branding presentation can be found on the Jordan Owners’ website.

To lead the pre-construction planning for the renovation and lead the renovation team as the Project Manager, your board has hired registered architect, Matthew McClenahan of HEC+A. Matthew, based in Auburn, Maine, has over 20 years of commercial Project Management experience. Matthew’s role on the project team is to coordinate all parties and advocate for the best interests of the Jordan HOA.

TruexCullins was hired to complete the interior design work for the hotel. For over 50 years, Truex has dedicated their design work to creating warm, pleasing spaces which enhance the way their clients work, play and live. Based in New England, Truex’s experience in hospitality is award winning and vast.  In 2022, they won the Best in Hospitality: Hotel/Lodging, IIDA New England Design Awards for their work on The Cloudveil in Jackson, WY. Using Puelle’s branding work as inspiration, they have started their design efforts in the lobbies and hallways.  Attached are a few renderings from Truex’s design work.  Please keep in mind these images are still in the draft form and are not representative of the final design.

The next important step in our renovation planning process is to receive input from our valued owners! Please complete the Owner Renovation Survey.  We need your input about the ways you would like to improve the hotel experience!  Your feedback is greatly appreciated, valued, and plays a significant role in developing our goals for the future of the Jordan.

Renovation planning is exciting, and we want you with us every step of the way – check out the renovation section of the Jordan Owners’ Website for all the latest pictures and updates about the project: Jordan Renovation Updates (jordanowners.net)

Warm regards,

The Jordan Hotel HOA Executive Board
