Good afternoon,
We want to take a moment to address questions and feedback from owners we’ve received regarding guest use of the Jordan during busy winter periods.
The Jordan is a welcoming, public-facing hotel and an important part of the mountain experience. Guests are always welcome to come inside to warm up, visit Northern Lights, ask questions, and orient themselves. At the same time, the hotel is not intended to function as a full day lodge, and extended “camping” in the lobby or common areas can create challenges for both hotel guests and our team.
Sunday River has made, and continues to make, significant investment in the Jordan area, including lodging, dining, transportation, and guest services. Our goal is to ensure the Jordan remains warm, welcoming, and functional for everyone while preserving the experience our hotel owners and guests expect.
To support this balance, we are taking several immediate steps:
- Clearly designating nearby conference rooms as warm-up space during peak periods
- Providing clearer guidance and scripting for our front desk and lodging leadership teams
- Reviewing mountain messaging and transportation information to reduce congestion and confusion
- Improving hotel signage and communication so expectations are clear and consistent
We appreciate your feedback and partnership as we continue refining how the Jordan supports both mountain operations and the guest experience. Our focus remains on hospitality, clarity, and thoughtful use of shared spaces.
Thank you for your continued support of Sunday River and the Jordan.
Warm regards,
Meredith Harrop
