Extended Covid-19 Space Available Services

Dear owners,

We have elected to continue the extended Covid-19 Space Available Services.

These protocols, originally posted on June 10th, give you the opportunity to stay for an extended time frame, up to 7 days, on Space Available. You are able to request either the Summit hotel or the Jordan hotel, and may stay in a unit equivalent to, or smaller than, what you own.

Requirements for requesting Space Available

  1. You must put your Space A request in at least 5 days in advance, to allow our limited team time to prep a room for you.
  2. Your dues must be paid in full in order to make use of this privilege.
  3. In order to request Space Available you must use this link: https://sundayriver.wufoo.com/forms/owners-request-form/

We will not be allowing walk-ins or any booking for Space A within the 5 day time frame. At this time, if you do make a Space A reservation and cancel within 72 hours you will be charged the set-up fee, so please plan accordingly.

Notice of Open Positions on the Board of Directors

Please be aware, there will be one (1) open position on the Executive Board of the Jordan HOA, as of the annual meeting in October, 2020.   These are elected positions and are open to all Jordan Hotel homeowners in good standing.

The term of Bill Cobb, is expiring.  Bill has expressed interest in running for re-election.

If you are interested in running for the Board of Directors, please submit a brief resume to Jenny Gray at The Jordan Hotel via email at ownerservices@sundayriver.com with a copy to the Board’s secretary, Kristine Conti, kmconti@comcast.net.  Resumes need to be received by Friday, August 28th, 2020 in order to be processed for the annual meeting in October.

Responsibilities of board members include attendance at the annual meeting in October and the annual budget meeting held in the spring.  The Board also meets several times during the calendar year and conference calls are scheduled intermittently to attend to any outstanding business. Officers are elected immediately following the annual meeting in October.

Sunday River has made changes to our resort operations this summer to support the national effort in slowing the spread of COVID-19 and to follow state guidelines, and are working to incorporate social distancing and other safety measures into our plans for next winter.

Resort-Wide Policies & Protocols

These policies will change as state and federal guidance is updated.  

  • All staff will undergo health screenings prior to every shift.
  • Sneeze guards will be placed at point-of-sale locations.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the resort.
  • Guests are required to bring and use face coverings while in public spaces indoors, and outdoors when social distancing cannot be maintained.
  • We will accept all forms of payment, but encourages guests to make purchases online prior to arrival when possible and use cashless forms of payment while on-resort.
  • Those experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, such as a fever or cough, are asked not to visit the resort.

Thank you for being loyal owners and guests of Sunday River.
With the changes that have happened over the past few months due to the impact of COVID-19 Sunday River wants to provide owners with expanded space available services.
We will be extending your Space Available privileges (Space A) up to a 7 day stay at the Grand Summit or Jordan Hotel. These new guidelines will begin July 1st 2020. You must request your Space A stay 5 days in advance by using the Space Available Request link on the Owner Services Page, summitowners.net page, or jordanowners.net page. We will not be allowing walk-ins or any booking for Space A within the 5 day time frame. At this time, if you do make a Space A reservation and cancel inside of 72 hours you will be charged the set-up fee, so please plan accordingly.
These expanded Space Available guidelines are temporary and in response to the impact of COVID19 on Sunday River’s business levels and will revert to our usual rules and regulations on September 1st 2020. We will review the end date in August and let you know if we will extend it based on the current situation with COVID-19.
Per usual, only owners in good standing will be able to take advantage of this service, so please make sure your dues are paid in full before submitting your request. You can reach out to kmyers@sundayriver.com to make these payments.

Message from your Board of Directors

We want to provide an update to the Jordan owners as to the operating status of the Jordan Hotel. Maine’s Governor, Janet Mills, issued an Executive Order on April 3rd which suspended lodging operations including hotels. The Executive order further mandates that all travelers coming to the State of Maine self-quarantine for 14 days and abide by Maine’s Stay Healthy at Home Order. These actions will protect the health and safety of everyone. The Jordan HOA’s attorney has reviewed the Governor’s Executive Order and general deeded property laws. He has determined there is not express permission to close the Jordan to owners. However, the Board of Directors and Jordan’s management team strongly discourage owners from using their timeshare week(s) for leisure purposes, as it risks the spread of Covid-19 to staff and subsequent users of the units, and overburdens the minimal staff still at the property. The Jordan is deemed a non-essential business, and therefore the Management Company is not required to provide services during the period of this Order, which is currently April 30th but could be extended. The Crown Club, Pool, Health Club & Spa, Game Room, Restaurants, and SR Sports Shop are closed. Housekeeping is suspended. If owners are on property during their week, they will be charged the normal set-up fee and at the end of their stay a $150 deep cleaning fee.

These are challenging and unpredictable times. The decisions being made may be an inconvenience and viewed as unpopular. We need to do all we can to slow the spread of this deadly virus and prevent our healthcare system from being overwhelmed.
